Mathematics Program Overview: The Mathematics Program at Midwestern State University offers several different degree options: BA in Mathematics - Requires 36 hours of Mathematics (beginning with Calculus I) and 7 credits of Computer Science, as well as a minor of at least 18 semester hours of which at least six must be advanced. BS in Mathematics - The BS in Mathematics includes all the requirements for the BA as well as at least four laboratory science courses (two courses in each of two different laboratory sciences). BS in Mathematics with 7-12 Math certification - Requires 32 hours of Mathematics (beginning with Calculus I), 24 hours of other courses, and 21 hours of professional education courses. This program is offered jointly with the West College of Education. Second major in Mathematics - This option is only for students pursuing a major in another area who wish to obtain a double major with second major being mathematics, and requires 30 hours of mathematics (beginning with Calculus I). *** Please Note: The course information includes a cost per credit hour.
