Rudolf Dreikur founded the institute of Adlerian Psychology in 1952 in Chicago, naming it after the physician and psychiatrist Alfred Adler. It was renamed Adler University in 2015. In the field of teaching psychology, Adler University is the oldest independent school in the North American continent. Adler University provides degrees in the master of Psychology in collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education and Skill Development, making it the only such degree in Ontario. The two campuses of the university are in Vancouver and Chicago, and it maintains collegiate relations with other Adler institutions - The Graduate School in Minnesota, Adler University in Chicago and Vancouver. Adler University is a private independent organisation that provides degrees in the fields of Psychology, Professional Coaching, Psychotherapy and Mental Health Counseling. It was established to promote independent thinking and bring positive change within society. Adler University offers a master's degree in Counselling Psychology; Counselling Psychology in Art Therapy; Counselling Psychology in School and Youth Concentration; Industrial and Organisational Psychology; Public Policy and Organisation; and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D).
